Landmark Development of Modern Apartments

Denleigh was awarded the contract to supply a huge range of door ironmongery items for Huntley Wharf, one of the largest urban regeneration projects in the South-East.

Enjoying a prime location next to the Kennet and Avon canal, within walking distanced of Reading town centre and the main train station, Huntley Wharf is a landmark scheme consisting of 765 apartments and duplex properties built by Berkeley Homes. The development offers a choice of innovative and high-quality homes across a number of apartment buildings, with access to a riverside square with restaurant, local store, gym, nursery and landscaped gardens. Ironmongery projects of this scale are often complex, with so many individual parts required across different plots but this is where Denleigh’s large project experience comes into play.

Project Details

Working closely with the developer, with whom we have built a strong relationship over many years, we provided product advice and drew up a schedule of quality products to meet all of the door ironmongery needs across the phased development.

Bespoke Handles

The client was particularly keen on one of our door handle designs with a knurled lever but also had budget constraints. Working with the manufacturer Denleigh was able to value engineer a bespoke handle design, the LR430S, to meet the customers needs and samples were supplied for approval. Finished in a polished chrome finish, this handle has a straight lever with a knurled grip giving a quality touch to every door. With a 10year warranty, it also offers exceptional value for money.

Denleigh provided another handle design, the SZR060 in satin nickel, featuring a chamfered edge and flattened mitred corner for the affordable housing units on the same project, as well as LR500 lever handles for a day nursery.

Ironmongery Schedules

In addition, we supplied thousands of individual hardware items for the reliable operation, safety and compliance of every door, from hinges and locks to bathroom turn and release, latch plates, door closers and fire door signage.

Deliveries were scheduled by plot number to maximise the installation efficiency and our experienced team provided project support and status updates throughout.
