Neo-Georgian Property Renovation

Image

Denleigh was commissioned to supply bespoke internal doors for the renovation of two up-market apartments in Grosvenor Square, Mayfair; one of London’s most desirable districts.

This famous square has a rich history that can be traced back to 1720s and is famous for once being the home of Oscar Wilde and the birthplace of Winston Churchill. Its classically inspired garden square is the second largest in central London and the prestigious location has long been a magnet for luxury hotels, embassies and luxury apartments. Being of a neo-Georgian design, these listed apartments were carefully renovated to suit their period design but with modern materials and features.

Classically styled doors with a modern twist

Following a site survey to accurately measure the apertures, the client chose our classic TRAD-607 bespoke door design featuring two raised and fielded panels and regular bolection beading. The stunning Smokey Stained oak veneer provides a modern twist to an otherwise traditional design and compliments the interior design perfectly.

23 bespoke doors in total were crafted for the two apartments, in a range of sizes up to 2260mm high x 940mm wide. We supplied these as FD30 fire rated doorsets, complete with hardware, linings and intumescent. This helped guarantee all of the components were compatible, fire safety compliant and of a quality finish. Ironmongery items included 102 x 76 ball bearing hinges, mortice latches, bathroom locks and 5-lever sashlocks.

Adding the finishing touch

Being 45mm thick and of a solid core construction, these doors provide a feeling of quality befitting the apartments. For the finishing touch the client chose door handles in a modern design with a matt bronze finish, which integrate well with the Smokey Stained Oak finish of the doors.
